We are delighted to invite applications from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, to help us make a significant difference to the lives of people living with cancer in York and Scarborough.
Working within our experienced and dynamic cancer psychology team, primarily based in York, you will have an office and clinic space in our friendly and well established Department of Psychological Medicine.
Our department has an ongoing commitment to flexible and hybrid working, so will include some working from home. Good quality supervision and CPD are essential to the well being of our staff, and we make this a priority.

Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the role are to provide a psychological service to people under the care of York and Scarborough Trust's cancer services, who are referred to the cancer psychology service.
You will provide individual input to patients alongside providing training, advice, consultation and reflective practice to MDT colleagues and will be supported by the Lead Principal Clinical Psychologist and an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist as well as being part of the wider Acute Medicine Psychology Team.
As a member of the Department you will have the opportunity to contribute and gain experience in the way we are developing both direct and indirect psychological care across our organisation.

Person Specification Education, Qualifications and Training- Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology. Two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
 - Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
 - Post graduate qualification in specific models of therapy, e.g. ACT, CFT, EMDR.
 
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of adults across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, and in patient settings
 - Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
 - Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity
 - Experience of working within a multicultural framework and application of psychology in different cultural contexts
 - Experience of working with Clinical Health populations
