About the Group

The world is obsessed by small start-ups or the largest corporates. Most UK media agencies are built to serve the top 100 spending clients, and there are a multitude of boutique agencies to serve those starting out in business. The Specialist Works is different. We are built exclusively for marketers at entrepreneurial brands. Businesses that are past the messy start-up stage but are worlds away from the slow-paced nature of large corporates.

Our clients span large privately owned businesses (often PE backed, founder-led or both) and small to mid-cap public enterprises. They are fighting larger, more established competitors and know they need to think and behave differently to win. They don't conform to category norms. Since they can't out-spend their competition, disruption is the safest move they can make.

The marketers leading these brands are innovative, resourceful, moving at pace and in all-out growth mode. They're powerful; redefining categories, overtaking and acquiring traditional businesses and changing consumer behaviour along with it.

Our clients share three common yet exciting challenges which define everything we do as an agency:

  • Consumer - customer acquisition is key to their success
  • Company - they are highly ambitious and built lean
  • Category - they are often outspent by their competitors, need to outmanoeuvre the competition and are passionate about disrupting an established category

The Client Team provides strategic planning support and coordination across all media to guide clients along their growth journey. Delivering best in class strategic recommendations and outstanding account management, we facilitate our clients meeting their business goals, ensuring they always have the right resource at the right time from across the agency.

As a Senior Client Executive you're the key support for the Client Manager and will be responsible for running the day-to-day activity of 2-3 clients. You will be responsible for owning significant parts of the account and will develop great relationships with clients and colleagues to deliver this.

You will be adept in using research tools such as TGI, Touchpoints and Similarweb to deliver media, market and audience insights that will contribute to designing and developing clients' communication strategies. You'll always be looking for new ways to get insights, uncovering new tools to use and information sources that you'll share amongst the team. You'll be presenting your work to clients, selling great ideas and reporting on results.

You'll write amazing briefs for our external media partners and internal specialists to produce best-in-class media proposals that innovatively deliver the strategy, all done with outstanding account handling.

What you'll be doing

  • You'll demonstrate excellent account management skills, establishing yourself as the day-to-day lead for your clients' business and building a deep understanding of them so you and the team can deliver on our reputation of consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • You'll own day-to-day client facing reports, in-campaign optimisation and post-campaign analysis.
  • Your research and strategic media planning skills will shine through. You will interrogate client briefs and contribute research to support the planning process from briefing through to campaign evaluation (this may include competitor analysis/audience reporting) to significantly contribute to high-quality innovative and creative responses.
  • You'll like working with data - championing our in-house MINT platform to generate insight, informing planning, and reporting to clients.
  • You'll have excellent commercial awareness, both in terms of client and agency commercial pressures as well as keeping up to date on industry news and 'what's new' in the media world.
  • You'll bring positivity, be a team player and have a 'What's Possible' attitude.
  • Over time you will confidently discuss potential cross-sell of other What's Possible Group channels, and identify new opportunities within the 'Now, New, What's Possible' framework
  • You'll be an approachable resource in strategy, cross channel planning, exploration, and measurement, who the rest of the agency can speak to in order to get help and advice on other clients

What you'll bring to the role

  • Strong & established experience of working in the advertising/marketing industry, you may have worked in a Brand or Performance environment
  • Experience of delivering great presentations to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Experience interpreting both soft and hard data with actionable recommendations
  • Good experience using UK media planning tools such as TGI/Touchpoints, Addynamix and Google Insight Tools
  • Multi-tasking skills, working to deadlines across multiple projects
  • Managing & supporting the development of junior team-members
  • Experience of working with external agencies (Creative/BTL/PR)
  • Experience and/or knowledge with behavioral patterns and a general curiosity in the world around you is hugely beneficial
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • A grasp of basic attribution is expected, and a broad understanding of the overall comms marketing mix beyond media

Our Values

  • Passion: You share your excitement about what drives you
  • Inquisitiveness: Ask "what's possible?". Ask "why not?".
  • Caring: Be a good professional, a good colleague and a good human.
  • Knowledge: Know plenty. Share it. Learn more.
