The role
  • Investigate solutions independently, exploring options and working with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to develop and communicate design solutions
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications at all stages of design and construction
  • Respond to RFI requests from clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Attend meetings and workshops, communicating ideas through sketches, models, and presentations
  • Coordinate design information with team members and stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members with peer support
  • Facilitate and organize meetings and CPD events for personal and team development
What you need to succeed
  • 5+ years of experience, possibly Chartered or aiming for Chartership
  • Experience with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Civil 3D
  • Developing SuDS strategies for complex urban developments
  • Designing site-wide levels strategies
  • Preparing volumetric earthworks analysis (cut and fill)
  • Conducting Flood Risk Assessments across flood zones
  • Designing external hard landscaping and pavement
  • Optional: Design and negotiation of highway works (Section 38 and 278)
  • Optional: Flood compensation schemes in high-risk zones
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills
