Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and controlling project documentation, utilizing project portals and common data environments.
  • Preparing 3D levels and earthworks models, contributing to spatial and levels design, including creating 3D drainage models and managing information exchange between various modelling software (InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, Revit).
  • Developing highway alignments, sections, schedules, details, and technical submission packages.
  • Designing, drawing, and detailing external works, drainage, and SuDS layouts, including scheduling.
  • Identifying below-ground utilities and obstruction constraints, coordinating with relevant parties, and resolving clashes.
  • Producing construction details, schedules, and specifications.
  • Creating 2D drawings and updating them based on comments and queries from authorities and contractors.
  • Delegating drawing tasks to junior technicians and coordinating with other design inputs.
  • Engaging with clients, contractors, design teams, and approving authorities to share and obtain information, and to resolve drawing-related matters.
  • Advising on and monitoring timescales for technician task completion.
You Will Assist With
  • Standards & Quality Assurance
  • Mentoring and guiding junior staff on drawing and technical matters.
  • Resource planning and providing valuable feedback.
  • Monitoring and resolving incoming site queries, design team queries, and requests.
  • Preparation of comprehensive technical submission packages (e.g., highways S278/38/50 & sewers S104/185, SAB).
About You
  • A strong understanding of construction practices, details, methods, and materials.
  • A solid grasp of the design team process, including work stages, typical deliverables, parties involved, and technical approval processes.
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D. InfoDrainage is preferred but not essential.
