Senior Children's Residential Care Worker

Derby

£38,743 - £42,058 OTE (including sleep ins) + £1,000 joining bonus

40 hours per week + sleep ins

2 days on / 4 days off (alternate week pattern)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Children's Residential Care Worker to join a well established, Ofsted registered children's home in Derby.

This role involves supporting children and young people aged 10-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs. As a Senior, you will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff, and ensuring the delivery of high quality, consistent care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and support the wider care team
  • Provide high quality care, safeguarding, and emotional support
  • Undertake key working responsibilities and support co key workers
  • Carry out and review risk assessments and care plans
  • Delegate tasks and support staff development
  • Manage incidents, conflict resolution, and end of shift debriefs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Facilitate young people's meetings and daily activities

What We're Looking For
  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare (essential)
  • Experience supporting children with EBD and complex behaviours
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people
