To undertake the daily running of the kitchen, supervising members of the kitchen team and making sure all is done in accordance with the FSQMS and the best interest of Somerset Larder. To liaise with and implement the strategic operations, commercial targets and deliver service performance under the direction of the culinary and operational leads.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, supervise and nurture the wider team.
- Carry out all chef/kitchen activities under the direction of the Chef Manager
- Ensure the food service provision is carried out in accordance with all aspects of the Somerset Larder Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) and any relevant legislation
- Liaise with and engage an operational team in building a proactive and positive relationship with the client, associates and key stakeholders
- Monitor food production and service standards in line with policy standards, ensuring that any issues are professionally addressed in a responsive and timely manner.
- Ensure all quality records are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure all kitchen facilities and all equipment are cleaned in accordance with the prescribed method and to the correct schedule.
- Act as, support and provide relief for the Chef Manager in their absence
- Support a zero harm culture.

Qualifications- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2 or Commis Chef Level 2 or equivalent
- Food Safety Level 3 (or able to achieve on appointment)
- Health & Safety Level 2 qualification
- Basic COSHH

Successful applicants will be required to provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history in order to work on Hinkley Point C. They must be able to provide in date photographic ID and their right to work in the UK so that security clearance can be obtained as these roles are based on a nuclear regulated site.
