Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.

We're looking for a Senior Care Assistant to help lead our day shift team at Thornfield Care Home, just outside the seaside town of Seaton on the world-famous Jurassic Coast.This is a hands-on, people-first role is perfect for someone who's ready to step into a leadership position while still staying close to the day-to-day care that really matters. Ongoing development from a supportive management team.What you'll be doing:You'll take the lead on shift, guiding a small team of carers, coordinating support, and making sure each resident's needs are met with respect and compassion. You'll also be responsible for administering medication safely, updating care plans, and being the go-to person when things get busy or someone needs help making a decision.This isn't just about routines, it's about relationships. You'll build trust with residents and their families, bring calm to challenging situations, and support your team to grow in confidence and skill. Whether it's helping someone get ready for the day, welcoming visitors, or spotting a change in a resident's condition your presence will make all the difference.What you'll need:You're probably already a Care Assistant with some experience under your belt - someone who knows how to stay calm, communicate clearly, and bring positivity to a busy shift.You'll also need:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or be actively working towards it
- Medication administration training and confidence in leading a team
- A compassionate nature, strong values, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
- A sense of humour, resilience, and a real passion for person-centred care
