As a Senior Buyer within our Integrated Project Team (IPT), you'll play a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support aircraft maintenance schedules and key delivery milestones. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, and customer representatives, you will help resolve material challenges, maintain programme momentum, and support the successful delivery of aircraft to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your stakeholder management and supply chain expertise within a fast paced aerospace environment where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities- Analysis of purchasing data for advanced preparation of part/material requirements for future inputs.
- Use Microsoft applications to assist in data analysis, stock ordering and project purchasing.
- Managing suppliers to improve performance, pricing and lead times.
- Understand supplier's delivery chain and set delivery rules.
- Monitor supplier performance and discuss areas of improvement as required.
- Ensure on time availability of material in line with the business requirements.
- Ensure an effective flow of materials both in to the business and dispatch to our external customers, including Goods Inwards Inspection, Product Test Schedule Activity and resolution of non conforming products.
- Identify any material risks and take appropriate mitigating action.
- Identify the most effective delivery methods of materials into the organisation.
- Coordinate the management of legacy slow moving, redundant and obsolete stock.
- Relevant experience in an aerospace, engineering or manufacturing organisation.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems and Excel.
- Proven material management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven decision making experience.
