Role Overview
The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) is responsible for the safe management, control, and execution of electrical systems on a large-scale data centre project. This role ensures compliance with local Finnish regulations, project specifications, and industry best practices, while overseeing energisation, isolation, and operational safety of high- and low-voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Safety & Authorisation

• Act as the Authorised Person for HV/LV systems in accordance with project and statutory requirements
• Implement and manage safe systems of work, including permit-to-work (PTW), lockout/tagout (LOTO), and switching procedures
• Control and approve all electrical isolations and energisation activities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute HV/LV switching operations
• Prepare and review switching schedules, method statements, and risk assessments
• Maintain accurate switching logs and system status records

• Support commissioning teams during testing and energisation phases
• Witness and approve energisation of critical systems (UPS, transformers, switchgear, generators)
• Ensure readiness of systems prior to energisation, including documentation and safety compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with Finnish electrical safety regulations and EU standards
• Interface with local authorities, utility providers, and third-party inspectors
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety procedures

• Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
• Provide technical guidance on electrical safety and operational procedures
• Mentor junior authorised persons and site engineers

• Maintain up-to-date electrical safety documentation, permits, and system drawings
• Produce reports on switching activities, incidents, and system status
• Ensure red-line drawings and as-built documentation are accurate

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (Degree, HND, or equivalent)
• Authorised Person/Senior Authorised Person certification (HV/LV)
• Strong knowledge of data centre electrical infrastructure

• Minimum 7-10 years' experience in electrical engineering, with significant time in SAP/AP roles
• Proven experience on data centre, mission-critical, or large industrial projects
• Experience working with general contractors or EPC environments

• In-depth knowledge of HV/LV systems up to 33kV
• Familiarity with UPS systems, backup generators, and critical power distribution
• Strong understanding of commissioning and energisation processes

• Knowledge of Finnish electrical safety standards and European norms
• Experience working with local utilities and grid connection requirements is highly desirable

• Strong leadership and decision-making under pressure
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• High attention to detail and safety-first mindset
• Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced project environment

• Fluency in English (Finnish is a strong advantage)
• Willingness to work on-site in Finland for project duration
