The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Senior Immigration solicitor to join our growing and progressive Immigration Team. In this role, the successful candidate would have access to a broad caseload which would cover the full spectrum of Immigration advice, working across our renowned Education, Charity & Faith and Business Sectors.
The role is flexible on location (we have offices in Bath, Cambridge, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London). Office and remote working will be available to the successful candidate and they will be expected to travel to other locations as client demands require.
Our cross-sector Immigration Team undertake a wide variety of work, such as:
- Guidance and advice on all aspects of recruitment from within and outside the EEA
- Advice on identity documents and right to work checks
- Advice on sponsorship process and compliance
- Conducting audits for both Worker and Temporary Worker sponsors
- Reviewing all current immigration processes and procedures, meeting with key personnel to advise on their duties and providing follow-up support, in readiness for any UKVI compliance visits.
- Assisting with all aspects of the points-based system, including undertaking the whole visa application process
- Advising on the EU Settlement Scheme and implications of Brexit.
- Conducting external and internal bespoke training, as well as conducting webinars on a wide range of immigration related topics.
Key responsibilities
General duties include but not limited to:
- Effectively manage an individual caseload
- Attend to client of the Firm in the office or elsewhere if needed
- Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within the immediate Immigration Team and wider Firm
- Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
- Maintain your continuing professional development requirements and take an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
- Delivering internal and external training (face to face and online)
- To attend and be involved in preparation for marketing and business development events and activities.

Essential
- A senior Solicitor with experience of running own caseloads.
- The ideal candidate will have the potential to market the firm and should have a strong interest in business development. Typical business development opportunities would include, but are not limited to: attending seminars and networking events, presenting workshops to the firm's clients and being involved in pitches/tenders.
- A strong commitment to career development and further learning.
- Previous experience handling own caseload and ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Attention to detail.
- IT literate including Office 2010.
Desirable
- Previous experience of supervision and development of others.
- Experience working with Education and Charity clients.
- Previous experience of supervision and development of others.
