Job Description
About the Role

Our Insurance and Risk team, based in the heart of the London insurance market, is looking to hire an experienced insurance solicitor at a pivotal stage in its development. The team has quickly established a strong reputation and continues to build on its growing profile, providing commentary in the insurance and legal press, alongside recent award nominations.

We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Associate to work within our Insurance and Risk team. The successful solicitor will work within the London and international insurance and reinsurance markets, advising insurers, managing general agents and other market participants across a broad range of coverage and claims matters. Whilst there is a particular emphasis on property damage claims and related coverage issues, the role offers exposure to a diverse caseload spanning multiple classes of business.

Your workload will include;

  • Reviewing and drafting policy wordings (with a focus on property damage), advising on coverage issues and handling complex coverage disputes.
  • Managing claims litigation, including subrogated recoveries and matters in the Commercial Court and Technology & Construction Court.
  • Contributing to business development and thought leadership, including client briefings, articles and wider market engagement.

You will be a solicitor with at least 7 years' PQE with a strong background in insurance and re insurance law, gained with a recognised city or market facing practice. We would also welcome applications from those who have developed comparable experience in house within the insurance market.

You should be confident managing complex, high value matters with minimal supervision and demonstrate a clear understanding of the London insurance market. A collegiate and entrepreneurial approach, aligned with a growing and ambitious team, would be an advantage.

There is an opportunity to join a thriving firm at an exciting stage of its growth within the London market. You will benefit from a collaborative and ambitious culture, genuine progression prospects, and the chance to play a key role in the continued expansion of a team that is already making its mark.
