Our client is a leading South West law firm with a strong reputation for delivering practical, commercially focused advice. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join their well-established and expanding Agriculture & Land team.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on a broad range of agricultural and rural property matters, including:

  • Sales and acquisitions of farms, estates and rural land
  • Agricultural tenancies
  • Rural development and diversification projects
  • Succession planning matters
  • Agricultural finance and secured lending work

They will manage a high-quality and varied caseload, build and maintain strong client relationships, and collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm to provide comprehensive, joined-up advice.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a technically strong and commercially minded Solicitor or Legal Executive with a genuine enthusiasm for rural matters. Applicants should have at least 5 years' PQE in agricultural, rural property or commercial property law (more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply).

They will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical expertise in property transactions, with a particular interest in the rural sector
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • A sound commercial awareness
  • The ability and willingness to mentor more junior team members
  • A passion for building and maintaining long-term client relationships
