Senior Quality Manager / Quality Lead
Location: National (with travel to project sites)
Business Unit: Expanded - part of Laing O'Rourke

We're looking for a strategic and hands-on Quality Leader to shape and deliver excellence across a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects. From the earliest bid stages through to handover, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our work meets the highest industry standards - and exceeds client expectations.

• Lead the Quality function - Own and evolve our Quality Management System (QMS) across the business unit, aligning with iGMS and the hub Quality Manual.

• Champion a quality-first culture - Embed best practice across teams, projects, and supply chain partners, challenging where needed to protect our standards.

• Shape strategy & process - Track industry trends, liaise with manufacturing teams, and align with external bodies to drive continuous improvement.

• Oversee project delivery - Provide assurance from bid through completion, review Quality Plans and supplier documentation, and ensure progressive client submissions.

• Lead people & performance - Manage, mentor, and develop quality managers, building the capability of our teams.

• Monitor & report - Run audits, track KPIs (NCRs, snags, audits), and report to the Senior Leadership Team.

• Educate & inspire - Deliver training, toolbox talks, and lead initiatives like Quality Week, CQI mentoring, and GIRI training.

• 10+ years' experience in Quality leadership across governance, assurance, compliance, and improvement.

• Background in high-assurance, regulated sectors such as power, nuclear, rail, energy, or healthcare.

• Strong knowledge of reinforced in-situ and precast concrete in complex environments.

• Deep understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and related standards (e.g. ISO 10005:2018).

• Skilled in project systems like Fieldview, Asite, Trimble and confident in data interpretation.

• ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certified (or working towards).

• Chartered Member of CQI or equivalent professional body (or working towards).

• An engaging communicator, confident influencing at all levels and building strong networks.
