Description CCP Games is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Animation Gameplay Engineer to join our team in London building EVE Vanguard. We are a tight-knit team creating a new perspective into the rich universe of EVE Online using Unreal Engine 5.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and optimisation of all runtime animation and movement systems. Reporting to the Lead Core Tech Engineer you will get the opportunity to learn, apply and develop your skills in collaboration with multiple disciplines across the development team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver Animation & Gameplay features based on project requirements.
  • Work closely with the Product, Art & Design teams to understand and realise their requirements.
  • Own all C++ runtime 3Cs (character, controls, camera) systems to bring player characters and NPCs to life.
  • Own all C++ runtime movement & animation systems (e.g. skeletal meshes, movement component, mover, animation graph, animation instances, animation Blueprints, anim notifies, IK systems, etc).
  • Own all C++ runtime replicated movement systems (e.g. movement component & mover).
  • Own all C++ runtime animation performance and optimisation using animation budgets to meet performance expectations.
  • Investigate and fix bugs in project and engine code.

Your Profile
  • Passionate about playing and building video games!
  • Proven experience working with Unreal's C++ animation and movement framework (e.g. skeletal meshes, movement component, mover, animation graph, animation instances, animation Blueprints, anim notifies, IK systems, etc).
  • Proven Experience making multiplayer games in Unreal Engine (C++, Blueprint and replication).
  • Willingness to embrace the challenge of prototyping new features alongside shipping regular content updates.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Knowledge of motion matching would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of modular animation Blueprints using the AnimLayerInterface would be advantageous.
  • Experience with First Person Shooters, Unreal's Gameplay Ability System, automated testing and modular gameplay are all great bonusses.
  • Experience with rigging and DCC pipelines would be advantageous.
