SENIOR AI/ML SOFTWARE ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly qualified senior engineer to join a team at the forefront of AI development, impacting AMD's AI/ML products. Responsibilities include developing scalable, high-performance solutions for mapping and implementing ML workloads on current and future AMD hardware, aligning with AMD's software and hardware roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ML use cases, hardware architectures for AI/ML, and analytical modeling to provide performance projections, enabling optimized solutions on AMD architectures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Analytical modeling of compute and data movement for performance-optimized ML workload mapping onto architectures like NPU and GPU.
  2. Applying software engineering skills to enhance performance optimization techniques within projection tools.
  3. Utilizing performance projection tools to evaluate ML workloads on target hardware.
  4. Engaging with internal teams and customers for technical collaboration.
  5. Staying informed on trends in ML models, software stacks, and hardware architectures.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++ programming.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, ONNX), and model representations.
  • Experience in analytical modeling of ML operators regarding compute and data movement.
  • Background in optimization libraries and solvers like PuLP, CBC, Gurobi is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
