Overview

As a Senior Accountant, you'll be at the heart of managing and refining financial operations. Your expertise will support the company's growth and stability through accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and seamless financial processes. This role offers you the opportunity to develop your skills within a collaborative environment that values your contribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger for the company and underwriting pools.
• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly expense variance analysis and support cash flow management.
• Handle the monthly close process, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns, annual P11D returns, and support regulatory compliance.
• Oversee monthly payrolls ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist with annual expense budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and statutory audits.
• Develop and improve financial controls and reporting solutions continually.
• Support treasury, liquidity planning, and ad hoc financial analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Reconcile multi currency underwriting transactions, manage outstanding debts, and liaise with underwriting teams to resolve discrepancies.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in an insurance finance role or similar setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Sage 200.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Experience with insurance accounting and managing multiple deadlines.
• Knowledge of underwriting account procedures and policies.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and external audits.
• Ability to manage complex, multi currency transactions.
