SEND Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Maidenhead from 7th September. This full time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm) supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The school primarily serves non verbal pupils with complex learning and communication needs in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities- Work closely with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality support.
- Aid pupils to engage in learning activities and develop independence.
- Manage challenging behaviours using positive strategies to de escalate situations calmly and effectively.
- Administer personal care while maintaining each pupil's dignity and wellbeing.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, especially those with ASD.
- Calibrated, resilient, proactive approach to supporting complex needs.
- Applied Behaviour Analyst qualification or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) experience is highly desirable.
£92.63 per day.
