We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Primary Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community. This is a full-time position, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary phase.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with EHCPs and contribute to reviewing targets and progress.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation support.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 TA).
  • Experience working with primary-aged children with SEND.
  • Knowledge of a range of SEND needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • The ability to build supportive relationships with pupils and staff.

If you are passionate about supporting children with SEND and would like to be part of a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.
