SEND Teaching Assistant - Hounslow

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference?

We are working with a supportive school in Hounslow seeking a patient, skilled and committed SEND TA to join their team for an immediate start.

Hours: 8:15am - 3:15pm
Start: ASAP

The Role:

You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH and communication needs, either on a 1:1 basis or within a SEND unit.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working in a SEND school or SEND unit
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong understanding of SEND needs and support strategies

Key SEND Skills & Experience:

Communication & Interaction

• Use of visual timetables and structured routines
• Supporting non-verbal pupils
• Understanding of processing delays

Autism-Specific Strategies

• Sensory regulation strategies including sensory breaks and sensory diets
• Managing sensory overload and triggers
• Supporting rigidity and transitions

Behaviour & SEMH

• Effective de-escalation techniques
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice
• Implementing positive behaviour support plans
• Managing challenging behaviour safely
• Building emotional regulation strategies

Learning Support

• Differentiating work for low ability and SEN learners
• Supporting phonics, early literacy and numeracy
• Breaking tasks down into manageable steps
• Reinforcing learning through repetition and structure

EHCP & Progress Tracking

• Supporting EHCP targets
• Recording observations and pupil progress
• Working closely with the SENCO and class teacher
• Contributing to reviews where required (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
