We are recruiting a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ASD in a Gateshead primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity within SEND support jobs in Gateshead.
About the role:You'll support pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them navigate the school day and access learning in a way that works for them.
What your day-to-day will look like:- Supporting pupils with structured routines and visual timetables
- Helping manage sensory needs and transitions
- Encouraging communication and social interaction
- Working closely with teaching staff and SENCO
- Creating a calm and supportive environment
- A patient, consistent, and understanding approach
- Interest in autism and SEND support
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable
- Full-time
- 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
