Position: SEND Teacher
Location: Woking, Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday-Friday, 08:00-15:30)
Salary: Paid to scale

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) Teacher to join our inclusive school community in Woking. The successful candidate will deliver high quality, personalised learning for pupils with diverse needs, working collaboratively with classroom staff, parents, and external agencies to promote academic progress, social development, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated lessons in line with the SEND curriculum and individual Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Conduct accurate assessments, set realistic targets, and monitor progress through data-driven reporting.
  • Provide targeted interventions, including one-to-one and small-group support, and adapt resources to meet varied learning styles.
  • Liaise regularly with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a coordinated approach to each pupil's development.
  • Contribute to whole-school inclusive practice, staff training, and policy development.
  • Maintain up-to-date safeguarding records and adhere to all statutory requirements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Post-Graduate Certificate/Diploma in SEND (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years experience teaching pupils with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EYFS, KS1-KS2 frameworks, and EHCP implementation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and reflective practice skills.
