Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 PA

Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a renowned Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit a passionate SEND Teacher. We currently have an outstanding opportunity available in one of our SEN Schools based in Stockport.

About the Role:

To specialise in leading and delivering core subjects up to GCSE to KS3 and KS4 aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher that has experience teaching pupils with ASC and additional behavioural needs to join a specialist team within a new school opening in September 2026. As part of a nurturing and innovative team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
  • Teach pupils aged KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the diverse academic and emotional needs of students with SEN.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, materials, and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Integrate social and emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum to support students' emotional regulation, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of students' achievements, interventions, and progress towards goals.
  • Establish clear expectations for behaviour and create a structured and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or behaviour support plans for students.
Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with students with SEND needs.
  • Specialism in teaching English is essential.
  • Experienced - ideally with at least 2 years in a SEND environment or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs. Including mainstream schools.
  • Qualified - QTSis essential.
  • Understands EHCPs and autism-informed practice.
  • Calm, organised and passionate about teaching and making a difference.
