Job Description
Overview

SEN Teacher - Secondary - Barking & Dagenham. From £160/day (depending on experience). Secondary school in Barking & Dagenham that provides specialist support for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and autism spectrum conditions. The school prides itself on a safe, structured environment where students are understood, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential. The school has a Good Ofsted rating and strong leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons adapted for learners with SEMH and autism.
  • Managing a small class size, supported by experienced TAs.
  • Using restorative approaches and relationship-based practice to manage behaviour.
  • Working closely with parents, the SENCO and external agencies to support student progress.
What we're looking for / Qualifications
  • QTS or QTLS, with experience teaching pupils with additional needs.
  • A calm, resilient and reflective practitioner.
  • Strong understanding of differentiation, sensory needs and emotional regulation.
  • Commitment to inclusion and personalised learning.
