This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional to manage a varied caseload, coordinate statutory SEND processes, and work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure children and young people receive the support they need.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, maintaining existing EHCPs, and coordinating annual reviews in line with statutory requirements.

Main Duties

  • Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality, legally compliant Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Coordinate annual reviews and ensure all statutory processes are completed within required timescales
  • Monitor the progress and status of children and young people within an allocated caseload
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, educational settings, and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding SEND processes, statutory duties, and available support
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure effective data management across case management systems
  • Prepare reports, case summaries, and statutory documentation to a high standard
  • Represent the SEND Assessment and Review Team within multi-agency meetings and professional discussions
  • Work within the SEND Code of Practice and associated SEND legislation
  • Support positive outcomes for children and young people through person-centred planning and effective case management
  • Manage post-16 caseloads where required, supporting Preparing for Adulthood pathways and transitions
Requirements
  • Experience working as a SEND Case Officer, SEN Case Officer, EHCP Coordinator, EHC Caseworker, or within a similar statutory SEND role
  • Extensive experience coordinating EHC needs assessments, annual reviews, and EHCP processes
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, Children and Families Act 2014, and associated SEND legislation
  • Excellent report writing and written communication skills
  • Experience managing statutory timescales and complex caseloads
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively with families, schools, educational settings, and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Confidence working within a multi-agency environment and managing professional challenge constructively
  • Knowledge or experience of Preparing for Adulthood processes and post-16 SEND provision would be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced service
