We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic SENCo to join our existing inclusion team at Gloucester Academy on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher who shares our values of ambition, excellence and pride, has previous experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Qualified Teacher Status. They will lead, inspire and support both students and staff while fostering inclusive education and continuous professional development.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic oversight of inclusive provision and lead on Key Stage 3 or 4 intervention
- Lead the identification, monitoring and review of SEND provision across the school
- Work closely with staff to develop effective teaching strategies and support plans
- Liaise with parents, external agencies and the local authority to coordinate support
- Lead EHCP reviews and contribute to statutory processes
- Line manage teaching assistants and support staff development
- Champion inclusion and promote high expectations for all learners
- Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Qualified Teacher Status and substantial experience working with learners who have special educational needs. Demonstrable understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and a proven track record in leading inclusive provision.
