As an SEN Tutor and Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating closely with the teaching staff, you will contribute to the development and implementation of personalised learning plans that cater to each student's unique strengths and challenges. - Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that align with the national curriculum and meet the specific needs of SEN students
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials and resources to ensure accessibility and effectiveness
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the evaluation of individual learning plans
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, builds confidence, and promotes a love for learning
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development and well-being
- Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field (e.g. , PGCE, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of the UK education system and the challenges faced by SEN students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies and adaptive teaching strategies
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient mindset, with a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of SEN students
