Flexible, Rewarding Tutoring Opportunities Term-Time SEN, Mental Health & Behavioural Support
Are you a compassionate, patient, and experienced educator who wants to make a genuine difference in a young person's life?
We're looking for In-Person Tutors to provide tailored, 1:1 support to children and young people who are currently unable to attend school due to special educational needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or mental health difficulties. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and achieve their potential-one learner at a time.
About the Role-
Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (typically 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
-
Support students in their homes or community settings who are temporarily out of school
-
Provide academic support across key subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, using creative, personalised teaching strategies
-
Focus on rebuilding trust, engagement, and confidence, not just academics
-
Communicate with parents, schools, and support professionals to monitor progress
-
Record and report student outcomes to track learning and development
-
Typical weekly sessions: 6-15 hours per student
-
Work is scheduled during school hours, leaving evenings and weekends free
-
Opportunity to take on additional students for extra hours
-
Ideal for those seeking flexible, meaningful, part-time, or term-time work
-
Experience tutoring or teaching children, ideally with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
-
Confidence working independently and managing a flexible schedule
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust with students
-
Patience, resilience, and creativity-every student learns differently
-
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and knowledge of safeguarding
-
Driving licence and access to transport is often required
Many of the students you'll support have been out of school for months, or even years. Your sessions may be their only consistent educational support, giving you the chance to make a profound, lasting impact on their lives.
