Our client, a renowned SEN school in the charming town of Godalming, Surrey, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their exceptional team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including mental health challenges and social communication difficulties. You'll work closely with the teaching staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth, development, and independence. Your role will involve:
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Providing one-to-one support to students, tailoring your approach to their individual needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and implementing strategies to manage challenging situations
- Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement personalised support plans
- Promoting a safe and stimulating learning environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a creative approach to problem-solving
