Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant in Dinnington

We are looking for a caring and inclusive SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a supportive school environment.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access the curriculum. You will assist in delivering personalised learning strategies, support classroom engagement and help create a positive and structured learning environment where every child can succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist the class teacher with adapted learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Provide emotional and practical support to pupils where needed
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, calm and empathetic approach
  • Ability to adapt to individual pupil needs
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and development
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up to date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS register to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education
