About the role

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEN school in Tredegar, supporting with recruitment for a SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupils' development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and in their emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short term role, with potential for a long term placement for the right candidate. The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring new skills to the role, be keen to develop appropriately for each child's needs and have a positive impact on the wider school community.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages who have a diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
• Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
