Job Description
Send Teaching Assistant - Primary SEND Teaching Assistant
Middlesbrough
£95-£110 per day Full-time long-term (part-time available)
Role OverviewProvide targeted support to pupils across KS1 and KS2, working closely with teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff. The role involves delivering 1:1 support, small group interventions, and supporting children with a range of needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, mental health needs, emotional regulation, school avoidance, speech and language needs, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality SEND support in a primary school setting
- Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Support pupils with communication and speech & language needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
- Promote a calm, inclusive, and nurturing environment
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN qualification (preferred)
- Experience working in SEND or SEN settings, SRPs, or mainstream primary schools
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Patient, resilient, and child-centred approach
- Ability to support pupils with complex needs, including behavioural and SEMH needs
- £95-£110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Long-term, stable placements
- Full-time roles with potential part-time options depending on pupil needs
- Supportive consultants and ongoing professional guidance
- Opportunity to work in excellent SEN provisions and primary schools
- Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS
- Provide two professional references
- Complete safeguarding and compliance checks in line with DfE guidelines
