SEN Teaching Assistants
Full-Time - Start After the Easter Break (or sooner for the right candidate)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Our Barnsley-based school site is expanding, and we're looking for committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team.
About the School

The site supports pupils with a broad range of additional needs, offering a nurturing environment, personalised learning pathways, and access to experienced, supportive colleagues.
Students who attend the site present with a range of SEN, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students in the classroom and during structured interventions.
- Help deliver tailored learning activities adapted to individual needs.
- Assist with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN professionals, and external agencies.
- Play a key role in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with the SEN listed above (essential).
- A patient, resilient, and caring approach.
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
- Strong communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Any relevant additional training or qualifications (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, Trauma-Informed Practice) will be highly valued.
