Start Date: After Easter Holidays
Academics / Term Time Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Mid Sussex.
This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has an EHCP. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the child receives consistent, tailored support both academically and emotionally.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:A minimum of 6 months' experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Experience supporting needs such as:
ASD
ADHD
Global Developmental Delay
Behavioural Challenges
SEMH
A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
Confidence implementing strategies to support children with ASD
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
Adapt learning materials to meet the child's individual needs
Support emotional regulation and social development
Help implement targets outlined in the EHCP
Liaise regularly with teaching staff and SEN professionals
