Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School Support

Location: Exeter Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only Daily Rate: £85-£95

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Exeter is looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by providing 1:1 and small group support to children with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and speech & language delays.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs in the classroom and during transitions

  • Assisting the class teacher by adapting lesson content to individual needs

  • Supporting communication strategies and social skill development

  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and behaviour

  • Creating a calm, positive, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (formal or informal)

  • Patient, calm, and positive approach

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
