Job Description

SEN Teacher - Primary Alternative Provision

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk Role Type: Full-time Long Term Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join a Primary Alternative Provision in the Ipswich area, supporting pupils who require a bespoke and nurturing approach to learning.

This role is ideal for a teacher who is committed to making a genuine difference to the lives of children with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and associated learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment Develop and implement EHCP-informed teaching strategies Support pupils academic progress, emotional regulation and social development Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families and external agencies Maintain high expectations around behaviour, relationships and outcomes

You Will:

Hold QTS/QTLS (or equivalent UK recognised teaching qualification) Have experience working with SEND and/or challenging behaviour (school, AP or SEN setting) Demonstrate empathy, patience and excellent behaviour management skills Be adaptable, reflective and committed to inclusive education Be confident in using a trauma-informed and child-centred approach
