We are currently recruiting a SEND Teacher to join a small SEMH Alternative Provision based in Kidderminster, supporting pupils aged 5-11. The school has fewer than 50 pupils, creating a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment for children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs.
In this role, you will deliver the curriculum in line with pupils' age and ability, adapting lessons to meet individual needs, particularly for those working below age related expectations. A strong focus will be placed on promoting emotional regulation, encouraging positive behaviour, and supporting pupils to re engage with learning. You will work closely with the SENDCo and further management to ensure EHCP provision is effectively implemented and targets are tailored to each pupil. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a close knit team and support pupils in developing both academically and personally.
The SEN Teacher Role:- Deliver inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND, including SEMH, ASD and challenging behaviours
- Plan and adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
- Track progress and implement targeted interventions.
- Create a nurturing, trauma informed classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships and support behaviour regulation.
- Work with TAs, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
- Manage support staff to maximise pupil outcomes.
- Maintain safeguarding, records and contribute to EHCP reviews.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience in roles such as SENCo, ASD Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including MLD and ASD
- Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting
- Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
- A nurturing, empathetic and flexible teaching style
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Up to date knowledge of safeguarding practices

Additional Benefits:- £168.80 to £232.57 per day, equating to £32,916 to £45,351.15 per annum based on 5 days per week for a full school year
