Job Description


Academics is delighted to be supporting a specialist provision in recruiting a thoughtful, adaptable Qualified Teacher to work with small classes of autistic and ADHD learners. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who is passionate about personalised teaching, positive relationships, and creating a calm, predictable learning environment.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences tailored to the needs of neurodivergent students. Working with deliberately small class sizes, you will design and deliver personalised, accessible lessons, support emotional regulation, and contribute to a nurturing, low-arousal setting where every learner can thrive.



Key Responsibilities

Plan and teach engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to autistic and ADHD learners

Maintain predictable routines and clear structures to support emotional and cognitive regulation

Build strong, trusting relationships with students based on empathy and consistency

Contribute to a calm, low-arousal learning environment aligned with best practice

Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN specialists, and the wider school team

Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies where appropriate

Uphold safeguarding and inclusive practice at all times



Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching or supporting autistic and/or ADHD learners (school or specialist setting)

A flexible, reflective, and compassionate approach to behaviour and learning

Strong lesson-planning skills and an understanding of adaptive teaching

Ability to build warm, positive relationships with young people
