Job Title: SEN Teacher - English & Maths
Location: Syon Manor College, Isleworth TW7 5AJ
Salary: From £38,000 per annum (salary negotiable for the right candidate, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Rota: Monday to Wednesday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start Date: January 2026

Are you a passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young adults? As part of our continued growth in service, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at Syon Manor College.

About the Role

In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching in English and Maths to students with varied and complex needs, tailoring your approach to individual requirements. You will help students achieve their potential while fostering personal development, confidence, and independence.

This is a role for a teacher who loves creating engaging, practical, and innovative learning experiences and wants to spend more time teaching and less time on paperwork. At Syon Manor College, we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, and students are respected, heard, and actively involved in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons for individuals and small groups, aligned to the Further Education curriculum.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans, and other personalised learning strategies.
  • Organise classrooms, resources, and displays to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Manage challenging behaviours, supporting students from needing external control to developing self-regulation.
  • Work closely with Pastoral Support Workers, Tutors, and Care Staff to provide a consistent approach to education and care.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and improvements in line with the College Improvement Plan.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues, parents/carers, and other professionals to support student outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant education policies, safeguarding, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, supervision, and school events.
  • Uphold the College's values, promoting a positive image within the community and fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS/PGCE).
  • Nationally recognised degree.
  • Experience teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Previous experience in SEN/ASC or Further Education settings highly desirable.
  • Calm, engaging, resilient, and innovative teaching style.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting student wellbeing.

Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
