Learning Support Assistant - PMLD Secondary School
Location: South London
Pay: £95-£115 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Remedy Education are looking for a compassionate and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary school supporting students with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). This is a rewarding opportunity where you'll play an essential role in helping young people with complex needs access learning, communication and independence.

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD across KS3-KS4

Assist with sensory-based learning, communication programmes and interactive activities

Support with personal care, including feeding, changing and mobility (training provided)

Use specialist equipment such as hoists, switches, sensory tools and communication aids

Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver individual learning plans

Help create a safe, calm and positive environment for all students

Experience within SEN, PMLD, SLD, complex needs or care settings

Confident with personal care and moving & handling (or willing to be trained)

Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships

Comfortable using sensory resources and supporting non-verbal communication

Reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people

Enhanced DBS required (we can assist if needed)

Supportive, welcoming school with a highly specialised team

Ongoing CPD including PMLD, PECS, Makaton, sensory integration and medical training
