Job Description

Sponne is an outstanding community comprehensive school with some 1412 students aged 11-18 on roll with 167 staff. The school is part of Tove Learning Trust, comprising of fifteen schools Buckinghamshire and has a training school and the Grand Union Training Partnership on site.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Facilitator (Teaching Assistant) to support students with Special Educational Needs, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes high standards and rich learning opportunities. In this role, you will undertake a range of duties focussed on the education, supervision and overall welfare of children at Sponne School.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, adaptable and resilient in navigating changes to classroom routines. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a commitment to supporting outstanding teaching and helping to raise student achievement. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Have English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Have a desire to make a difference to students' learning, with a particular focus on SEN
  • Have a willingness to help support teaching staff and colleagues
  • Be able to maintain discipline with challenging students and follow policies and procedures
  • Be required to apply for a DBS disclosure
  • Meet the person specification and be eligible to live and work in the UK
