Semi Senior Accountant

We are working with a well-established accountancy firm based in the Worthing Area and are looking to appoint a capable and motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join our close-knit team.

This is a key role within a small practice environment, where you will take responsibility for preparing VAT returns, producing accounts, and supporting a range of ad-hoc accounting tasks. The position offers strong variety and the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing VAT returns
• Preparing quarterly MTD submissions
• Producing annual and periodic financial statements
• Assisting with tax computations and corporation tax returns
• Supporting the wider team with general accounting duties as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Solid understanding of standard accounting principles and methods
• Proficiency in accounting software including Excel, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and ideally IRIS Accountancy Suite
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
• A collaborative team player with good time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently

Role Details:

• Office hours are 09:00 - 17:30
• Fully office based with parking nearby
• Salary is depending on experience
