Position - Semi-Senior Accountant (Practice)

Location - Warrington, Hybrid

Salary - £26,000 - £35,000

Job Description

We are working with a well-established and steadily growing accountancy practice that is looking to add a Semi Senior Accountant to its team. The firm supports a varied client base and prides itself on delivering a reliable, personable service while investing in the development of its people.

This position would suit an accountant with previous UK practice experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, manage their own workload, and continue progressing professionally within a supportive environment.

You'll be involved in a broad range of compliance work and will work closely with clients, gaining exposure to multiple sectors and accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses
• Completing VAT returns and supporting corporation tax computations
• Assisting with bookkeeping and the preparation of management accounts
• Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts
• Communicating directly with clients to gather information and answer queries
• Using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks
• Supporting senior team members with reviews and ad hoc assignments
• Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice (essential)
• AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA or ACA
• Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements
• Experience using accounting software in a practice environment
• Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
