Job Description

Our clients, across Burnham/Bridgwater/Weston and Taunton, are continuously seeking dynamic and experienced Full-time SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse educational needs, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities
  • Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and a positive mindset.
  • Assisting students with academic tasks, offering guidance and encouragement to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, communicating regularly with teachers and parents to provide updates and feedback.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and contribute to the development of holistic support strategies.
  • Maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment, adhering to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEMH needs.
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and problem solving abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary of £92.59 - £100 per day.
