SEMH Learning Support Assistant - Torbay

Job Overview

Axcis Education is working closely to support an SEMH school in Torbay for pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The special school is looking for a learning support assistant to start Monday 20th April 2026, or as close to it. School hours are 8.50-3.00 and the pay rate for this position is £14.20-£16 p/h, depending on experience and qualifications. This is likely to be a permanent position for the right candidate.

• Experience of working with children
• Bubbly, friendly and approachable
• Are resilient and can cope under stressful circumstances
• A passion for supporting children with SEMH

Additional Qualifications

• Experience working with children who have SEMH
• Level 2 Qualification
• Level 3 Qualification
• SEMH or Trauma enforced training

School Environment

The school exhibits a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health and education needs, which can inhibit their progress both inside and outside of the classroom. The school works on trauma enforced principals, providing a flexible curriculum which is centered around the pupils.
