The University of Aberdeen is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Security Officer within the Estates and Facilities Directorate to assist in the delivery of a 24/7 security service across the University buildings and Campuses.As a Security Officer you'll be required to work a core 24/7 shift pattern consisting of 7 - 9 hour late and night shifts Monday - Friday and 12 hour day and night shifts at weekends, although flexibility around working hours is required. The ability to work successfully as part of a team and possess excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
Job DescriptionOur team carry out a wide range of duties including foot patrols, CCTV and alarm monitoring, responding to a range of alerts and alarms and providing effective response to incidents and emergencies. We're keen to hear from you if you're enthusiastic and motivated to be part of a team committed to providing excellent customer service to a diverse community. To be successful in the role you'll be required to deal with challenging and sensitive situations, remain calm under pressure and possess the ability to assess situations quickly and effectively.
Candidates should be educated to a standard grade or equivalent and must have a good standard of literacy to complete clear incident reports and be competent in the use of basic computer systems.
Successful candidates will be provided with a uniform, protective clothing and on site training and mentoring.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 scale, £26,942 - £30,805 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
