The Role - Security OfficerReports To: Security Manager
Purpose of the jobSecurity Officer to maintain a high standard of service delivery in line with health & safety regulations and an outstanding customer experience to all our guests and visitors, staff and the centre. You will ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislation. To provide exceptional support and day to day management of the Castle Quarter Shopping Centre, guests & visitors as well as all building and car park users safety, while also ensuring the safety of the onsite team twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. To provide clear and timely communication to all within the centre on key issues that affect the business operation and customer service delivery.
Ensure that the interests of Atlas Retail, Castle Quarter and their guests and retailers are fully protected at all times and conduct yourself accordingly as their representative
Job Overview- 1.Assisting the "live" operation of the Security Team that manages the essential functions of:
- All common and public areas of the shopping centre
- Castle Quarter Emergency and evacuation procedures
- Officer time & Attendance
- Health, Safety & Welfare of the Atlas Retail site based team
- Incidents that affect Castle Quarter & Atlas Retail
- Business continuity planning centred on the continued operation of the control room and shopping centre
- Castle Quarter building security and safety
- Ensuring all issues are dealt with correctly
- 2.Provide timely and effective communication to all within the business including and up to the Line Manager, Atlas Retail Management and Castle Quarter on:
- Incidents that occur on or effect Castle Quarter
- Update and collate incident informationSerious incident tracking and management
- Absence and Lateness reporting
- Officer misconduct
- Systems Fault Reporting
- Ensure all incidents are logged and managed effectively through to completion
- Manage the personnel within the Shopping Centre, Control Room and Back of House
- Effectively communicate business issues to the relevant centre departments
- Assisting with manpower within the shopping centre and support Car Parks
- Maintain the standards of the Security for access / egress and visitor regulation
- Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are always maintained within the centres team
- Extensive hazard spotting across the site and escalation of any issues to the relevant Manager
- To be fully conversant with the methods of working all equipment and to ensure that it of a standard and quality commensurate with the requirements of the property
- Ensure that complete and updated assignment and procedure Instructions are being followed. Where site or procedure instructions are not being followed, ensure that corrective actions are raised.
- Ensure that all contractual requirements are properly fulfilled and if there is an issue or concern inform the line Manager
- Handle all day-to-day enquiries which arise from whatever source in respect of the daily operation of the security of the centre
- To develop and maintain good working relations with applicable local agencies and services.
- Ensure all information is dealt with applicable local agencies and services
- Ensure all information is dealt with in a confidential and professional manner
- Any other reasonable request from management or client
- Completion and checking of all accident and health and safety reports
- Completion and checking of all accidents / incidents relating to Atlas Retail personnel
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service and address comments/complaints appropriately
- SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential
- First Aid at Work essential
- CCTV Licence preferred
- Relevant industry experience
- Has the ability to contribute towards a teams operation and can work on own initiative
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation
- A comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures
- A decisive and assertive decision maker who can interpret situations to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
- Excellent analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered and prioritise activity and ongoing communication
- Excellent oral communicator
- Strong written skills for reports & incidents
- Excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise with safety officers, managers & Directors
- Commercial awareness of cost implication for decision making implications
- Strong influencing skills to achieve business objectives
- Resourceful and creative, able to deliver proactive initiatives within the control room.
