Are you a professional, approachable and proactive Security Officer looking to make a positive impact within a thriving college environment?
We are seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming campus for students, staff and visitors.
Working as part of our established security provision, you will maintain a visible and reassuring presence across the College site. Our daytime security team consists of multiple officers who support the needs of a busy and highly populated campus, while our overnight provision is supported by a dedicated single postholder.
The RoleAs a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a highly visible security presence across the campus.
- Monitoring the College's CCTV network and responding promptly and appropriately to incidents.
- Undertaking regular patrols of buildings, grounds and residential areas.
- Providing support and assistance to students, staff and visitors.
- Working closely with the Student Welfare team to promote the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Supporting the welfare of students living on campus accommodation.
- Remaining approachable and accessible during key periods of the day, including break times and student arrivals and departures.
- Responding effectively to security incidents, emergencies and welfare concerns.
We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing a safe and secure environment and who can build positive relationships across the College community.
You will have:
- A valid SIA Door Supervision Licence or SIA Security Guarding Licence.
- Ideally, a valid SIA CCTV Licence (training can be provided if required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgement.The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- A proactive approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards of security.
- The confidence to interact professionally with students, staff, visitors and external partners.
- The ability to drive and ideally hold a clean driving licence to enable effective site coverage.
