Full time 35 hours per week. Salary: £26,881 (£14.71 per hour) plus £4,435 shift allowance. Hours: 35 hours per week (14 twelve hour shifts including weekends and night work over a 28 day shift cycle, repeated 13 times a year). Location: Fully On Site.
About the roleWorking as part of a professional security team, you will ensure and maintain the security, safety and integrity of all National Museums Scotland buildings and provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors and collections.
Responsibilities- Patrol and secure the site to prevent and detect intrusion, flooding or fires.
- Monitor CCTV systems, assist in preparing footage for investigations.
- Support Visitor Experience staff in dealing with emergency and conflict situations.
- Adhere to and apply all Security Control Room and out of hours procedures, including verification and issuance of identification passes to visitors, contractors and staff.
- Experience in a security environment.
- Experience dealing with security incidents or situations requiring an immediate or timed response.
- Ability to remain calm and positive when dealing with a wide range of enquiries and situations.
- Knowledge of reception duties and access control for staff, contractors and visitors.
- Good knowledge of security, fire, intruder and CCTV systems and procedures.
- Contribution of 28.97% of your salary to a Civil Service Pension Scheme.
