gap personnel are recruiting a Security Operations Centre Operative for a fast-growing UK retailer based in Plymouth. This is a key role within the Head Office Security team, monitoring systems and responding to incidents across the business.

Role Overview

As a SOC Operative, you will monitor security systems, CCTV, and alarms, respond to incidents, provide first line technical support, and ensure continuity of operations. You will uphold high standards of confidentiality and compliance, supporting both proactive and reactive security measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems, responding to incidents promptly
• Escalate issues according to protocols and liaise with internal teams and emergency services
• Conduct system checks and report faults
• Support shift handovers and maintain operational continuity
• Maintain accurate records and GDPR compliance
• Provide first line technical support for security technology

About You

• Calm under pressure, organised, and tech savvy
• Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills
• Experience in a control room or similar environment (desirable but not essential)
• High level of integrity and a proactive mindset

• Position: Temp to Perm, Full time
• Hours: 12-hour night shifts, 4-on, 4-off rota (flexible)
