Job Description

We're supporting the client on long term contract - Security & Network Engineer to strengthen the network security environment. This is a rareengagement combining daily operations with cutting-edge network architecture work in a high-trust financial setting.

What you should do:

  • Secure Network Architecture: Contribute to the design and evolution of the financial services end client secure network, supporting segmentation and future Internet-facing services.

  • Firewall & Proxy Management: Daily configuration, rule changes, patching, upgrades and optimization of Palo Alto Firewall clusters and Proxy infrastructure.

  • Troubleshooting & 3rd-Level Support: Analyse complex flows and resolve incidents across Firewalls, routing and secure application services.

  • Automation & Continuous Improvement: Use tools such as Terraform, GitLab, Ansible to automate configuration and streamline deployments.

  • Documentation & Communication: Produce technical manuals, procedures, and project reports; represent the network group in internal/external meetings.

What You Bring

  • Proven Expertise:

    • 5+ years as a Network/Security Engineer in large, complex environments (banking or critical infrastructure preferred).

    • Strong hands-on skills with Palo Alto PanOS (clusters, IDS/IPS, SSL decryption, sandboxing). PCNSE certification or equivalent experience required.

    • Cisco knowledge: Umbrella, ISE, IPSec, Wi-Fi.

    • Policy management with Algosec (Firewall Analyzer/Fireflow) and integration with ServiceNow.

    • Solid command of IPv4/IPv6, BGP, SSL/TLS, SSH, Syslog, SNMP, LDAP, Radius, HSRP/VRRP.

  • Automation Mindset: Experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, or Ansible.

  • Language Skills: Fluent technical English and native-level French or Dutch.

  • Soft Skills: Ability to translate high-level security policy into technical solutions, work independently, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
